Neudle's neuropsychological assessments are structured in tiers, based on the total time required to complete the assessment and the complexity. This includes assessment sessions and testing, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback. Learn more about our tiers here.

Each tier includes a defined amount of clinician time. In some cases, additional time may be clinically required beyond the selected tier. Where this occurs any additional time is billed at the standard Neuropsychologist hourly rate.

Neuropsychological assessments are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Depending on your circumstances, limited private health insurance rebates may apply, and we recommend checking directly with your insurer.

REBATES

Mental Health Care Plan
At Neudle, Medicare rebates are available for psychology therapy sessions if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP (also called a Mental Health Treatment Plan). Current rebate amounts are:
GENERAL PSYCHOLOGIST:
$98.95 rebate
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST:
$145.25 rebate
A MHCP generally provides rebates for up to ten therapy sessions per calendar year. We’re required to send progress reports to your GP at sessions six and ten.

To claim a rebate, please email your MHCP to admin@neudle.com.au or upload it with your intake form before your first appointment. We can’t backdate rebates for sessions that have already occurred, so your plan needs to be in place before your sessions begin.

Once your invoice is paid in full, we'll lodge your rebate with Medicare within two working days (often sooner) - our Admin hours can be found here. You’ll then receive the rebate directly into your bank account from Medicare. For easiest payment, use the secure Neudle Psychology Client Portal.

Note: Medicare only provides rebates for therapy sessions. It does not cover assessment reports, documentation, neuropsychology, other services, or those funded through NDIS or private health.
NDIS
Neudle Psychology is not an NDIS-registered provider, but we can provide our services to both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.
PLAN-MANAGED:
Sessions for plan-managed participants are charged at the NDIS rate of $232.99, in line with the NDIA pricing guide. Your plan manager is invoiced directly.
SELF-MANAGED:
Self-managed participants have the flexibility to pay providers directly at an agreed rate. Our standard Full Fee rates apply and vary depending on whether the clinician is a Registered or Clinical Psychologist. Clients pay us directly and may then claim the cost from their NDIS funding.
Private Health Insurance
You might be able to claim a portion of the fee if you hold private health insurance. What’s covered depends on your policy, so it’s best to check with your insurer.

Any private health claims are managed independently on your end. Your invoices / receipts can be accessed through your account on the Neudle Psychology Client Portal.
WorkCover
Dr Joey Lawrence is WorkCover registered and can provide services to residents in Victoria. Please note that a gap fee applies for these services, as our rates exceed the WorkSafe scheduled fees.
Note: you must only claim one rebate for each session. You cannot claim from both Medicare and private insurance at the same time.

FAQ

Can I claim a rebate through Medicare?

Yes, if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) through your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.

All Neudle psychologists are registered Medicare providers. If you’re claiming a rebate, we’re required to provide brief reports to your GP after session six and ten.

To avoid delays, please ensure your MHCP is sent to us before your first appointment. You’ll need to have a valid plan in place before the session you wish to claim, as we can’t backdate claims.

Once your session has been paid in full, we’ll submit your claim to Medicare for rebate processing.

How do I make, change, or cancel a booking?

New Clients:

If you’re new to Neudle, all appointments start by submitting a booking request. This allows us to understand your preferences and match you with a suitable clinician based on availability. We’ll be in touch with next steps to confirm your booking.

Existing Clients:

If you’re already working with us, you can manage your appointments anytime via the Neudle Psychology Client Portal. This is the most reliable way to book, reschedule, or cancel sessions, as changes are recorded instantly. New clients will receive portal access details by email after their first booking is confirmed.

Cancellations and rescheduling:

Changes to your bookings can be made anytime via the Neudle Psychology Client Portal. If you’re rescheduling via the Client Portal, we recommend booking your new time first and then cancelling the original appointment. Full details, including cancellation fees, are available in our Cancellation Policy.

Need help?

If you need assistance using the Client Portal, our admin team can help by phone or email during admin hours. Please note that cancellations made by email are only considered received once they’ve been read during business hours. For urgent or after-hours changes, please use the Client Portal.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We apply a strict cancellation policy to ensure we can continue offering consistent, high-quality care. As a small business, appointment fees sustain our services, so we apply this policy consistently to all clients.

If you need to cancel, please do so via the Client Portal with at least 48 hours notice before your appointment start time to avoid a cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 24-48 hours prior to the appointment incur a fee of 50% of the session cost. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session, or if you do not attend, incur a fee of 100% of the session cost. Cancellation fees cannot be claimed under Medicare or private health funds.

If there is an ongoing pattern of late cancellations or non-attendance, future bookings may be reconsidered or cancelled, and pre-payment may be required to secure future appointments.

For full details, please see our Cancellation Policy.

What are your payment methods?

You can access and pay for your invoices via the Neudle Psychology Client Portal.

Card payment can be made securely via Stripe in the Client Portal, or we accept bank transfer. Details can be found on your invoice for bank transfer, and please ensure that you include your invoice number as the transaction reference.

We accept payment via Klarna for those that require a flexible or deferred payment option. Please get in touch with our admin team to arrange Buy Now Pay Later payments for your invoices.

We are cashless and do not accept cash or cheque. We also do not take payment via phone or email.
